The first article I read was about a mother and daughter being beaten for speaking Spanish rather than English this week in Boston. Apparently the attack consisted of biting beating punching and kicking. In the midst of the assault the attackers yelled things like “this is America” and “Go back to your country”. The investigators are looking into attack as a hate crime. Apparently no arrests have been made but investigators are still looking for the two attackers. Witnesses said the woman had a verbal argument and the attackers hit back to defend themselves another said the attackers just attacked and hit witnesses who tried to separate the women.
The second article I read was about Justin Bieber releasing his new Music video for his song changes on twitter as well as apple music. Bieber uses different seasons in the song to portray the changes he’s gone through recently and to show us some consistencies. Justin Bieber explains that his song shows some days where you want to push and keep going. Some of the other days portrayed in the song portray days where you just want to do nothing.
The spread of topics today were news and pop culture. One very much so went in depth into an incident that occurred and how they were handling it while the other simply reported about a new video in the entertainment industry and the meaning behind it. The headlines told me exactly what to expect from each article. The articles focused on an incident that occurred as well as a new music video release. The articles focused on the deeper meaning behind both topics. Unlike the article I read about an assault from yesterday this one wasn’t just blatantly reporting the incident it was talking about what was going to happen and what was happening. Both articles reflected good journalism because they put out the information for usto interpret. An example of this in the first article is how it didn’t side with anyone, one of the witnesses said the victims attacked first. Both followed an informative story structure.
